Description:

Not a typical mineral but come on, you can’t deny the impressive nature of this organic specimen. Like a firework the oysters red shell shoots out little barbs all over the body, all perched on a coral base. It’s an oyster on matrix! This is NOT put together as some sort of art piece. This is completely natural in every way. Even the hinge on the shell isn’t put together, it’s naturally intact and you can open and close it. Absolutely no damage. I’ve seen little pieces of these shells sold as jewelry but still have yet to see an entire specimen like this. It’s very imposing and noticeable in the display case, one of my very favorite pieces.
